Outreach and Globalization

Our Land-Grant mission establishes the expectation that the university will address societal, economic, and environmental issues that affect the lives and well being of citizens of Tennessee and beyond.

Engagement of the university with the state’s citizens, communities, counties, and regions occurs through a variety of outreach programs and is expected of each academic unit of the university.

In the 21st century, it is also essential for our students and citizens to understand how our economy and quality of life are influenced by the global economy and marketplace.
